Divine Renovation Open House

St. Ignatius of Loyola

June 15, 2019

8:30 to 4:30, followed by mass

For pastors and their teams who are interested in parish renewal

“I dream of a ‘missionary option’, that is, a missionary impulse capable of transforming everything, so that the Church’s customs, ways of doing things, times and schedules, language and structures can be suitably channeled for the evangelization of today’s world rather than for her self-preservation.”

Imagine if our parishes became fully alive all across our city. Imagine creating parishes where our loved ones who are far from Jesus can encounter Him – first in the friendship of our people, then in a true encounter in the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Sacraments. Imagine, parishes across Montreal that change people, that awaken people to the real love of God! We could change our city!

We are by no means experts, but we are very excited to invite you – pastors, priests, and interested lay leaders – to spend a day with us as we pray, learn, and grow together. We have learned a lot in our 2 years with the Divine Renovation Network and we are eager to share our failures and successes with you in the hopes to inspire and equip you to taking a next step toward the renewal of your parishes, and ultimately the renewal of our city!

Morning Workshops

20/20 Vision: For Pastors only

A clear Vision for your parish sets direction, inspires and excites, and is the starting point of parish renewal. And guess what? It starts with you! God has entrusted his flock to you, what are your hopes and dreams for your people? Your vision for your parish should be inspired by the Holy Spirit and elicit passion from you. Learn how to begin the process of creating a clear and compelling vision.

Transforming the Sunday Experience by Intentionally Investing in the “3-H’s”

Moving your church forward from maintenance to mission requires making some hard choices.  What are you doing that aligns with your vision? What needs to stop? What needs to change?  At St. Ignatius, we made a conscious decision to invest heavily in the weekend experience. In this workshop, you’ll hear about the changes we made, the things we gave up, the things we goofed up… and what lies ahead.

Afternoon Workshops

Leadership is a Team Sport

No one is perfect, not even you! Learn how to Lead out of a team in order to get better and more focused results. Let’s talk about conflict, it’s always there. Learn how to embrace it to make your team work better than ever! You can create great relationships among those you are called to lead that will bring about incredible results. And yes we know it sounds crazy, but you will be happier in the process.

Becoming Cultural Architects

Like it or not, your parish has a culture. You may have heard the Peter Drucker quote: “culture eats strategy for breakfast” – but what does it mean? And if it is true, then how can we deliberately affect the culture so that it supports, sustains and propels our dreams for our parishes? If we want to see change occur in our parish communities, if we want the hearts of our people to be softened to the idea of renewal in the Lord, then we must become cultural architects.
