Nothing would be possible without the generosity of our incredible team of volunteers. We have many opportunities for people to serve in helping our ministries and city flourish.

Hospitality
Welcome and love guests by engaging them in the life of the parish and connecting them to next steps.
Greeting
Visitors make their mind up about church within the first 7 minutes of their visit. Our genuine smile, preparedness, and warmth makes all the difference in whether someone chooses to ever come back or not. Make an impression that lasts. Open a door, say hello, smile and welcome guests.
Coffee
Welcome and love guests by serving up a warm cup of coffee after Sunday mass and sharing a conversation to build a community where everyone is seen and known.
Emcee
Be the first person to welcome people ‘from the front’. Set the tone of warmth, familiarity, and also reverence. Learn speaking skills, lead by example, and become friends with a ton of people all at once! Direct guests to their first/next steps.
Outreach
Identify the new person and step out in courage to connect with them. Welcome them, get to know them and capture their contact information for next steps.
Kids & Teens
Ministries
Teen Host (Catch the Wave)
A teen host facilitates the small groups in order to listen to the kids, spark and guide the conversations.Â
Adult Helper (Catch the Wave)
An adult helper supports the teen hosts and helps them grow in their Host and Leadership skillsÂ
Small Group Host (Ignation)
A Small Group Host hosts the conversation during the small group portion of the evening.
Operations
Make our guests feel right home when they visit St. Ignatius by helping to create a safe and beautiful environment that has guests wanting to visit us again.
Opener
Prepare for weekend Mass or an event by opening up, turning on the lights, setting-up as needed, and ensuring that all spaces are ready to receive and welcome guests.
Closer
Help prepare the church for weekend Mass or an event by locking doors, turning off lights, taking down, and ensuring that all spaces are ready to receive guests for next time.
Set-up & Decoration
Serve others by making our parish warm and welcoming throughout the year. Help with decorating and setting up for special events like Christmas, Easter, Alpha and many more!
Cleaning & Maintenance
Prior to mass or an event, help with light cleaning of bathrooms and general spaces, shoveling and/or salting, and be on standby for any maintenance issues.
Media & Tech
Slide Operator
Love our guests and allow them to follow Mass and worship by operating the slides during mass. Not too sure about operation them live? No problem, you can serve our community by helping to prepare the mass slides ahead of mass.Â
Livestream
Help those who are homebound or outside of Montreal to experience mass with the community present in the building by running our livestream of Sunday Mass.Â
